The Emerald City is a damn green jewel, located between Puget Sound and Lake Washington. Home to the Space Needle, Microsoft, Amazon.com, Starbucks and Costco, Seattle is a vibrant city everyone should visit. In the pages of WhyGo Seattle we’ll try to cover both the very popular attractions and those tucked away places waiting to be discovered.

Space Needle: take the elevator on a clear day and you’ll be rewarded with the best views ever. It might be the most expensive elevator ride in the US but it’s worth the effort. The restaurant is also a good choice although everyone knows it’s made for tourists.

Columbia Center is the tallest building in Seattle and also offers incredible views. To reach the top you won’t have to pay that much (only US$5) and you won’t have to battle the crowds either (the building is not such a huge attraction like the Needle).

Pike Place Market : comprising dozen of little shops, it does feel more like a tourist attraction than a real market. Make sure not to miss the famous seafood shop where they throw the fish from one end to another.

Beaches & Parks : this lovely green city offers a lot of places to enjoy nature and soak up the sun.

Coffee Culture : Seattle is pretty much synonym with coffee so make sure to sip a cup in one of the many coffee shops.

Fremont Solstice Parade : if you are looking for a very colorful experience, make sure to check out this parade in mid-June.
