Well enjoying a tour of the Fremont neighborhood just north of downtown Seattle, we happened upon a marvelous place, THEO CHOCOLATE.
Now, I know many of us have issues with chocolate made in the US, but I think I have finally found a place that might just save America’s reputation, and the free chocolate tasting had nothing to do with it I swear.
Founded by Joseph Whinney in 1994, Theo Chocolate is the first roaster of Fair Trade Certified cocoa beans and the only roaster of organic beans in the United States. The cacao comes from an array of countries such as Venezuela, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Ecuador, Panama and Ghana. The chocolate is high in cacao content and rich in antioxidants. Not to mention that it is soy-free and vegan friendly.

With free samples of flavors like Vanilla Milk, Bread and Dark Chocolate, Chai Milk and, my personal favorite, Coconut Curry, and cacao contents of upto 91%, you will walk out with a very big smile and verging on a chocolate induced coma! Don’t forget the $5 tour of the factory, where the delectable aroma is enough to fill your dreams with visions of rivers and fountains of chocolate.
