Alki Kayak Rental!!

Some of you might not believe it, but Seattle does have a beach scene. Located just across the way from downtown via a 10min water taxi ride, Alki Beach is a superb spot to take a break from the rush of city life and due to a rainshadow effect, Alki beach is often sunny when heavy clouds obscure Seattle.

After enjoying a relaxing ferry ride with stunning views of the city, you walk up the dock and turn right, Alki Kayak Rentals is located right behind the restaurant. Owned and operated by Greg, an environmental economist by education, this small outfit offers a wide variety of outdoor activities.
Preparing and training
Rent a bike or a pair of inline skates and enjoy the 2.5mile pathway to the other side of the beach. Once there you can drop them off at the second shop and walk back or simply swivel around and come on back home.

Once you have breezed along the strip you can rent a kayak for a two-hour tour of the bay. There are morning, afternoon and sunset tours! With an excellent chance of wildlife sitings, Greg will take you on a fantastic tour with a running natural history commentary. Most times you will partner up in double kayaks, but for the more experienced, there are single kayaks available.
Beautiful views of the city

So head out and experience Seattle from the other side of the bay!
