Coffee Culture, episode 4

If you are a coffee connoisseur or just enjoy a really good “cup of joe” then swing on by to Seattle Coffee Works located on Pike Street between 1st and 2nd. Owned by Sebastian, originally from Germany, this independent coffee shop prides itself in quality with a selection that includes several local roasters as well as a large list of their own gourmet single origin coffee. seattle_cw.jpg

Their signature drink is either the Breve Macchiato or the Short Lattestuff_005.jpg. But for those brave enough, Sebastian highly recommends THE WORKS, a selection of 3 double espresso’s side by side which allows you to taste different roasters and compare. Please not this is no whoosy espresso! Strictly no milk or sugar is added and you are sure to add a jolt to your day.s-scw_day_one_187_-250×166.jpg

Fear not tea drinkers, Seattle Coffee Works has something special for you too, Mighty Leaf Teas, high end loose leaf long stem tea contained in silk pouch. If you don’t mind paying a few dimes more, it is well worth it, just sitting breathing in a cup of Vanilla Bean tea is enough to make anyone feel happy and relaxed. seattle_cw2.jpg

To go along with you beverage of choice take a gander at the selection of Essential Baking pastries. Whether you crave a muffin, croissant or a danish, the choices are there.
Voted by Seattle’s Best as the best place to taste coffee for 2007, there is free daily coffee tasting from 11am to noon. Don’t forget to get a picture with the coffee drinking man outside…stuff_009.jpg
