Seattle Pubs: Fado’s Irish Pub

With St. Patrick’s just round the corner here is a must for everyone. Check out the week long festivities starting on March 11th at the Fado’s Home site.

There is a pub downtown on 1st and Columbia that has become my “Cheers” pub, Fado’s Irish Pub. Sure, it might be part of a chain with a total of 15 Fado’s spread over the US, but its the staff that makes the difference, not to mention the food!!

Chatting with Mark, one of the managers who brings a real Irish accent to the place, I discovered something that makes Fado’s unique. The Irish Pub Company assembled the entire place in Ireland and then shipped it to the US piece by piece.
My home away from home has been here for 7yrs and has quite a following from the locals, with daily events bringing in regulars at every turn.

There is something for everyone:
Tuesday: Poker night at 6.30pm
(450 chips to start and a chance to win gift certificates)
Wednesday: Pub Quiz at 6.30pm
(Trivia from all subjects, come test your knowledge)
Thursday: Irish Rock night
Friday: Live music / DJ (Cover $5 after 9pm)
Saturday: Kennedy Brothers at 9pm (Cover $5 after 9pm)
Sunday: Irish Jam Session from 4.30pm to 7pm
(If you have an instrument just show up)

Don’t forget Happy Hour, Sunday – Thursday 10pm thru 1am and Monday – Friday 4pm thru 7pm. A delicious selection of Happy Hour food and the $3.50 beer of the month. For those who are in need of a special treat I highly recommend the “black and tan brownie with guinness icecream”.

So if you are craving a pint of guinnessgeneral-004.jpg or even just a cup of teageneral-005.jpg, pop on down and join the family.
