Attending Lollapalooza in Chicago
Lollapalooza is held annually in Chicago’s Grant Park. Tickets are still available for this year’s fest, which will be held August 6-8.
The full line-up is available online; currently scheduled to appear are Green Day, Lady Gaga, Social Distortion, Spoon, Wolfmother, The Walkmen, Felix da Housecat, Devo, Cyprus Hill, and many more.
3-day passes are available for $225 each, while VIP passes that include access to special viewing areas and unlimited food and drink are $850 for three days. If you don’t go the all-inclusive route, expect to pay anywhere from $15-$50 or more for food and drink, depending on how you much you plan to drink and whether or not you dine inside the festival grounds.
The best cheap Chicago hotels for Lollapaloozo will be just south of the Loop – close to Grant Park, south of Jackson and north of Roosevelt. You can also stay slightly north of downtown, in Lakeview or Lincoln Park, and then commute 20 minutes into the city each day. There are lots of Lollapalooza travel deals that can also help you cut down on your costs.
There are several airports close to Lollapalooza, including O’Hare and Midway, and the range of options usually makes it easy to find cheap airfare to Chicago. Just don’t forget to factor the cost of Seattle Airport parking into your budget, unless you’ll be taking the monorail from the city to Sea-Tac.
